Daha luck|Aug. 08, 2019
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will have the world’s most powerful sound system ever installed in a production sports car. At least, according to sound system manufacturer, Bose.
Thanks to the recently leaked 2020 Corvette order guide , we know that the new mid-engine Stingray comes with a 10-speaker Bose audio system as standard with an optional 14-speaker system. Bose says that 14 speakers are the most they’ve ever put inside a 2-seater vehicle and that the Corvette will have the most powerful sound system of any sports car ever made.
Those are some big claims, but Bose has some interesting diagrams to back them up. They’ve also got an oddly silent video showcasing just where each of the Corvette’s 14 speakers go and how they combine to produce as big a soundscape as they claim.
Starting at the front, Bose places two 2.5-inch drivers at either end of the dash while a 3.25-inch driver sits squarely in the middle. On either two is a 1-inch tweeter paired with a 4-inch wide-range speaker and a 10-inch subwoofer. That woofer is invisible and even uses the architecture of the door itself as a massive bass enclosure, the surface of which is covered in a smooth, padded material to keep the driver's legs from getting scratched.
In the rear are two 5.25-inch wide-range speakers located at the pillars, while a trio of 3.25-inch drivers is mounted in the quarter panels and dead center before the engine bay.
A digital amplifier with 16 customizable equalization channels ensures pitch-perfect sound just the way you like it, while Bose AudioPilot noise cancellation tech keeps outside sounder interference to a minimum. Advanced staging technology creates an "extremely wide soundstage with detailed separation between instruments and vocals," but also a balanced one with both driver and passenger provided the same 360-degree sound.

“From the beginning, we knew we had to have an audio system that carefully balanced the need to isolate the occupants from the engine compartment in the rear while providing live performance-like audio clarity,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette executive chief engineer. “The Bose system technology in the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray delivers that careful balance.”
Expect to experience the 2020 Stingray’s sound system for yourself some time this winter.
