Police rescues two siblings abducted in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi state Police Command has rescued two siblings, aged five and 10, who were kidnapped from their home in Abakaliki area of the state.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Loveth Odah confirmed their release in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abakaliki.
Odah, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) disclosed that the kidnappers robbed the mother of the siblings of huge undisclosed amount of money before the children were abducted.
She said the kidnappers demanded N10 million ransom but later abandoned the children at a location in Afikpo South Local Government Area of the state.
Oda added that the children have been reunited with their mother.
She, however, disclosed that efforts are being made to track down the abductors.
“Our men are currently in pursuit of the fleeing suspected kidnappers; also investigations are ongoing to unmask possible conspirators with a view to arresting them.
Odah appealed to the public to report any useful information on criminal activities in their areas to assist the police.
