Coutinho: Arsenal offered brilliant chance to buy Brazilian for cheap by Barcelona
Jul 31, 2020
- Phillipe Coutinho is unwanted by Barcelona, who are keen on cashing on him for cheap
- Arsenal are poised to sign the Brasilian, who previously played in the Premier League with Liverpool
- Barcelona are willing to accept cash plus midfielder Matteo Guendouzi for the 28-year-old Coutinho
Arsenal have been offered a brilliant chance to sign Barcelona outcast Phillipe Coutinho for as little as KSh 1.1 billion (£9million).
Latest reports from The Independent indicate that Barcelona do not want the 28-year-old Brazilian and have offered him to both the Gunners and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, an Arsenal deal looks more likely as Tottenham boss Mourinho hinted earlier the club did not necessarily need to bolster its squad.
Arsenal’s chances have further boosted by the fact that Barca are monitoring holding midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and are willing to let Coutinho go the other way for £9million plus the midfielder.
The Frenchman Guendouzi has not featured for Arteta since June when the Gunners lost 2-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion and reports were rife he had fallen out with the gaffer over disciplinary issues.
On paper, therefore, the deal would suit both parties who do not exactly want the players currently in their side.
For Arsenal, however, the deal would be ideal for a number of reasons.
