Lawyer Ahmednasir believes Raila's presidency would be worse than Uhuru’s
Nov. 06, 2019
- Lawyer Ahmednasir suggested Raila is surrounded by loyalists and politicians who may not help in running a country
- He admitted Uhuru's presidency has been a big disappointment but it would be worse under Raila
- His sentiments came at a time local borrowers are left at the mercy of banks after removal of cap rates
City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has sparked a heated conversation on social media for claiming ODM leader Raila Odinga's presidency would see the economy on its deathbed.
According to Ahmednasir, a Raila presidency would be worse than President Uhuru Kenyatta's leadership in terms of economic development.
Without explaining any further, he appeared to suggest the former prime minister is surrounded by a clique of politicians and loyalists who may not be well versed with running country's affairs.
Even though the senior counsel admitted Uhuru's administration is a big disappointment, he was however quick to point out the Opposition chief would score lowly.
"Jubilee under the able leadership of Uhuru and DP Ruto assisted by Duale, Muturi and Murkomen have to some extent messed up Kenya. But just imagine if Baba assisted by Musyoka, Wetangula, Junet, Sumra and Alado were running Kenya? Thank Allah for Jubilee," he tweeted.
His sentiments came at a time local borrowers are tightening their belts after MPs failed to shoot down Uhuru's recommendations to remove bank cap rates.
The motion, contained in Finance Bill 2019, will see banks slap borrowers with their own desired interest rates.
The president had complained that the interest rate cap had resulted in a credit squeeze as banks feared to lend to borrowers who are regarded as high risk.
