Who needs Gareth Bale? Heung-Min Son scores FOUR and Harry Kane assists them all as Tottenham come from behind to stun Southampton
Sep 20, 2020
Who would have thought it? Going into the 45th minute, Tottenham were 1-0 down and looked like they were chasing shadows.
Another 46 minutes later they had won 5-2 with Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane putting Spurs to the sword in devastating fashion.
The South Korean scored four goals times with the England captain assisting every single one – in a similar style each time.
And, before time was called on the rout, Kane was able to tap home a strike of his own leaving Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Saints stunned.
Each time Son struck should have been a warning that opposite Jose Mourinho was targeting their high defensive line, each time it fell on deaf ears.
Southampton’s opening 45 minutes had Spurs rattled, for sure, but as they game wore on the just couldn’t keep up their relentless pace, allowing Spurs to fight back and finish them off.
The opening of the game was actually dominated by VAR with the system disallowing a fine Kane volley and then a tapped home finish, sandwiching a Danny Ings effort which was ruled out for offside.
