- Following the retrieval of human parts from septic tanks in key suspect's home in the Takoradi missing girls case, the families refused a DNA test offer from the police
- Two of the three families have finally agreed to allow the police take samples for DNA tests
- Bentum and Korankye families have agreed for the samples to be taken
Two families of the three Takoradi kidnapped girls have finally made a U-turn on their decision not to allow the police take samples for DNA tests on some discovered skeletons at the premises of the kidnap suspect.
The two families; Bentum and Korankye families have agreed for the samples to be taken.
Spokesperson of the families Michael Grant Hayford revealed this to Morning Starr on Thursday, August 8, 2019.
“We are in a country where we have to respect our elders and the rule of law. The result is what we are all looking out for,” he said.
He however insisted the families of the three missing girls believe they are still alive.
“We still believe the girls [discovered bodies] are not our loved ones,” Hayford stressed.
Meanwhile, the families of the three missing Takoradi girls earlier called for an independent DNA test following the retrieval of some skeletons from a septic tank behind the house of the key suspect, Samuel Odeoutuk Willis.
The mortal remains were believed to be that of the three girls who went missing between August and December 2018.
The spokesperson for the families, Michael Hayford Acquah, said the news had thrown the Sekondi-Takoradi municipality, especially Kansaworodo, into a state of shock.
