Dec 2, 2020
After a super summer spending spree which saw the influx of about seven players heading to Stamford bridge, the Chelsea owner doesn't seem to take a break on spending and he poised to make further additions to the squad. The player in contention is currently Bayern Munich's full back, David Alaba, the 28 year old year who is versatile in defence and can also play in midfield will be on a free transfer in the summer after talks with the Bavarians to renew his current contract failed with the German club's heirachy.
Chelsea are amongst a host of other clubs that seem to be strong favorites to land the Australian as he will be allowed to hold talks with suitors in January during the winter transfer window.
Manchester City and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Alaba while Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus have also been attributed with interest.
The Chelsea owner seem to have an edge as Zahavi, the agent of David Alaba is a close friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and the Israeli helped engineer his take - over in west London club back in 2003.
He(Zahavi) also played an integral role in the influx of players that arrived at Stamford Bridge to kickstart the Abramovich era.
The super - agent reportedly earned around £5million from Chelsea during the summer of 2003 following the arrival of 11 new signings.
