Leeds ‘targeting’ Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi with Everton, Sevilla and Atalanta among clubs linked
Aug 4, 2020
Leeds have been linked with a move for Feyenoord defender Marcos Senesi.
The 23-year-old impressed in his first season for the Dutch club having signed from Argentina Primera Division side San Lorenzo last summer.
Senesi made 16 appearances in the 2019/20 Eredivisie season, which was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Newly-promoted Leeds have already been linked with numerous transfers as Marcelo Bielsa looks to get his squad ready for the top-flight.
A striker is likely to be on his wish list along with a new centre-back.
Ben White spent the season on loan from Brighton but has now returned to his parent club.
Leeds are likely to want to make White a permanent signing ahead of the 2020/21 season but there will be other options being considered.
Radio Continental journalist Martin Flores claims Bielsa is ‘targeting’ Senesi this summer.
Adrian Durham insists Leeds should sign Yorkshireman John Stones on loan from Man City because Marcelo Bielsa ‘would make him better’
A report last month also claimed that the Feyenoord defender was also a target of Everton this summer.
Getafe, Atalanta and Sevilla have also shown an interest in the Argentine with the Dutch club holding out for around £18million.
Senesi is also said to be stalling on signing a new contract to see if a move to a bigger league in Europe materialises.
