Pamwani Maternity Records 41 Cases Of Coronavirus

Forty-one workers attached to Pumwani Maternity Hospital have tested positive for coronavirus after 290 people at the facility were tested.
The new cases have however been confirmed by the Ministry of Health to be asymptomatic and have proceeded to received home-based care.
Confirming the news to Citizen TV was Health DG Dr. Amoth who said they were allowed to undergo home-based care as they exhibited no symptoms of the virus.
He continued by noting that two of them had already recovered from the virus with the other 39 still isolating at home.
The testing activities are still undergoing with 100 more people expected to be tested before the Ministry of Health can access the situation at Pumwani Maternity Hospital.
Dr. Amoth also confirmed that operations at the facility will continue without interruptions following the discovery.
The news comes barely a day after an alarm was raised over 15 health workers belived to have contracted the virus.
What followed next was suspension of activities as expectant mothers were turned away from the facility.
