Oxford City confirm defender Finley Tapp DID NOT tell club he was going on Love Island

RANSFORD ESSUMAN

Jan. 16, 2020

Oxford City have confirmed that their defender Finn Tapp didn’t tell them that he was joining Love Island.
The 20-year-old, from Milton Keynes, was set to be named in the starting XI for this weekend’s match against Braintree before the club’s secretary found out he’d flown to South Africa to take part in the hit reality show.
And despite being officially contracted to the club, Tapp flew to South Africa without telling anyone he was going.
Last night a spokesman tweeted: “The club was not aware Finn Tapp was going on Love Island – this is normal protocol for all contestants. We understand and wish Finn luck on the show.”
Last weekend, Tapp was knocked unconscious in a horror collision on the pitch during last Saturday’s National League South match against Dartford.

The game was suspended after eight minutes following the collision while Finn was treated by doctors before being stretchered off.
Tapp signed for Oxford City in 2019 following a successful trial, having made his professional debut for his local side MK Dons against Bournemouth in 2018.
He scored in a 4-1 defeat to Norwich in 2016 when playing for the MK Dons academy.
