JSC to start interviews in search for Supreme Court Judge

The Judicial Service Commission will Monday kick off interviews in the search for a Supreme Court Judge after Jacktone Boma Ojwang retired from the position.
Nine candidates had been shortlisted for the exercise but only seven will be interviewed after Justice Martha Koome was picked as the Chief Justice nominee while Judge Kathurima M’inoti withdrew his candidature.
The candidates include; Hon Justice Chitembwe Said Juma, Hon Justice Marete Njagi, Hon Justice Nduma Mathews Nderi, Dr nyaberi Justry Patrick Lumumba, Hon Justice Ouko William Okello, Hon Justice Sergon Joseph Kiplagat and Ms Yano Alice Jepkoech.
Justice Chitembwe Said Juma will once again be the first to face the after he faced the same panel for the Chief Justice slot last month.

Chitembwe was recruited in the Judiciary on the 2 nd of April 2009 after serving at the national social security fund from 2003 to 2009.
In his service at the Judiciary, Chitembwe has worked as a High Court Judge in Kakamega, Malindi, Migori and Marsabit.
Chitembwe, aged 54, is currently serving in the civil division of the high court at the Milimani law courts.
Same Monday, 61-year-old Justice Marete Njagi of the Employment and Labour Relations Court would justify some of the employment disputes he has handled as he seeks the Supreme Court Judge seat.
