Ireland U21s' Zack Elbouzedi makes Bolton move
Jan 16, 2021
Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger Zack Elbouzedi has left League One table-toppers Lincoln City on loan and joined Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season.
The Dubliner, who joined the Imps from Waterford FC 12 months ago, drops down to League Two where former Premier League regulars Bolton find themselves in the bottom half of the table.
The 22-year-old has made six appearances in all competitions for Lincoln this season, with just two of those coming in the league against Northampton and Burton in December.
Elbouzedi, who has been a regular for the Ireland Under-21s, said a need for regular first-team football was the motive behind the move to Bolton.
"Everybody knows the size of this club and I'm delighted to be here. Hopefully, I can come here, play some games and help the club to progress," he told the club website.
"I’m 22 now and I just want to play regular football. I’m really eager to get going for Bolton Wanderers."
Trotters boss Ian Evatt added: "Zack is a player who I have monitored for a good length of time. Lincoln are currently flying at the moment and have some very good players in his position.
"As a result of their form, Zack has struggled for game time. He's a player with electric pace, is a match winner and gives us more options in the forward area of the pitch."
